Serving My Master
Guiding Girls as they Grow in Christ
During Grades 4-6 SMM girls will:

  • Take a good look at God's Word
  • Work together and discover how God has gifted us while completing team building challenges.
  • Unite to help others while completing service projects.
  • Work individually to meet purposeful goals
  • Wrestle with what God says about tough topical issues that girls face today.
S.M.M. is a ministry of the Fellowship of Grace Brethren Churches.

Colossians 3:24
"Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ."
History
SMM began in 1913 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Mary Bauman started a special club for the girls in her church. She loved all of the girls and wanted them to grow up to know Jesus. They called their club the "Sisterhood of Mary and Martha."
Little did Mary know that her idea would one day include thousands of girls.

Colossians 3:24
"The updates to the 5th grade curriculum have been such a blessing to me as an Amigas leader.  It's jam-packed with lesson plans, service project ideas, games, crafts and great resources like 'Hot Topics'.  I have seen God work in the girls' lives as we discover what His word says about such topics as anger, friendships and self-esteem. This curriculum has been a wonderful tool in equipping and encouraging the girls in my group to grow in their relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ!" -Carrie Sansom (Wooster GBC)

Valentine's Day Garland

Materials: Red, White or Valentine themed wrapping paper, scissors, and writing utensil.
Cut 4-6 inches off of the entire roll of wrapping paper so that you have one long piece of paper that is only 4-6 inches wide. Fold the long roll of paper accordion style with a 4-5 inch face. Keep each flat folded face lined up as perfectly as possible.
Now, draw one half of a small heart connected to one half of a large heart onto the front face of the paper(see picture). Cut the paper along the lines all the way through the accordion of folds. Do not cut the right or left side of the paper on the lines where the accordion should appear. Open the accordion and hang. You can also send them as a surprise inside of a valentine card.
